Fundamentalism

Fundamentalist movements are found in all major religions. Though these fundamentalist movements are almost always at odds with one another, they are alike in their pursuit of political power.  Usually their intent is peaceful, but often their attitude of "defending good against evil" results in violence, destruction and death.

Despite the fact that Christianity, Islam and Hinduism are three independent religions, the fundamentalists of those faiths share these things in common: 1) they believe that they alone have the truth, 2) they base these truths on their interpretations of the words of one man or one set of scriptures, and 3) they believe in a system of absolute right and wrong.
